“This is a time for grieving,” commented the Interior Minister the Interior Minister, who added that attempts had been made to evict the three siblings in the past.

The leader of the region of Veneto, the regional head, said the residence was under an court order due to unpaid amounts accumulated by the property owners.
Negotiators had been assigned to speak to the siblings who had barricaded themselves into the property. When the Carabinieri reached the location soon after 03:00 (01:00 GMT), authorities suspect one of the siblings set off the explosion.

A propane tank had been set off, and the blast immediately struck our members,” he explained.
Incendiary devices were also discovered at the residence, the Interior Minister confirmed.

As stated by the Verona prosecutor, the property was in a dilapidated shape and had was without power.
The official believed the explosion had taken place on a story above the access point and told reporters it was a “deliberate and pre-planned murder”. Moments before the incident, he said personnel had “heard a whistle, likely the gas cylinders being activated”.
